Yes, this will protect your shoes from scuffs, BUT… the plastic covers on the underside, which protect the Shubandit straps from wear when walking around are very slippery. This is a little problem when walking around, but a much bigger problem when putting your left foot down on the pavement at a traffic light, or even worse when stopped on a hill. If I keep using this product, I will cut those off and just accept more rapid wear.

I’m going to save a lot of you some money. Instead of getting this scuff protector, just get some 1″ wide velcro and some gorilla glue. Cut 2 3-4″ strips of the velcro (the fuzzy side) and place it on the bottom and front of your shifter. After you’re sure it covers everywhere your boot/shoe would touch, use the gorilla glue to put it in place. Let it dry for 3-4 hours and you’re good. No more scuff marks on your footgear. No hassle putting something on and storing it. And you can wash it with your bike. I’ve had the velcro on mine for 6 months now with no problems. You can’t even see it unless you get right up to it. Even then, it doesn’t look bad.
