Good quality boots should be good for wear for at least some years. As most of these boots are made of the tougher grade of leathers, these motorcycle riding boots will wear better and more comfortable along the way.

As motorcycle riding boots are functionally-designed, it is advisable to buy these boots from specialist outlet. Some footwear stores do offered boots in motorcycle riding style but bear in mind that most of these are designed to suit the trend of the day and may not offer the same level of protection as in a pair of quality and genuine motorcycle boots.

Choosing Motorcycle Riding Boots

Motorcycle riding boots should have short heels as short heels allows the boots to maneuver the foot correctly and let the foot sits squarely onto the motorcycle peg and at the same time, providing good ankle support. High heels boots tends to put the “thigh-to-calf” at a more acute angle or at a more uncomfortable leg bend.

The height of the boots should be at least 6″ inches tall (150 cm) tall that protect the ankle.

The soles of most quality boots are made of rubber-based composite materials. Look for label that indicates that the sole are oil-resistant soles to help to keep the feet on the motorcycle’s peg, especially when coming to a stop. Soles must have good traction to offer good slip-resistance.

Another important area to note is how the soles are attached. Normally, the soles are glued first and then stitched. A stitched-on soles are not only more durable but also safer than those boots whose soles are only glued-on. Avoid glued-on only soles may come off easily and also at a critical time unexpectedly, causing dangers.

Avoid laced-up boots if possible and picked those that are zipped, buckled or velco-taped fastened, the zips, buckle and the velco-tapes must be of good quality. Laced-up boots are harder to take off during mishaps.

The next thing to consider is the boots are designed to keep out water. The outer part of the boots that has the best waterproof feature is normally made of waxed and oiled leather. However, these are normally good for about 10 minutes of riding in the rains. At least, this feature should give ample time to riders to seek shelters. Riding in the rain should be minimized as much as possible.

Ventilation is another area to consider if you generally go on long trips. Good quality boots manufacturers incorporated special exterior surfaces and designs as well as interior linings.

Another must is the area around the toes is reinforced to protect the toes and incorporated the Toe Shifter Pad. Toe Shifter Pad increases the front part of the boots and reduces fatigue to the foot from gear shifting and also reduces damage to the boots.
